Thanks for the comment but do your research. Adding on from george’s previous point, Greece had also played internationals in 2005 and 2006, and further to this, unlike the Greek Rugby League team, played with mostly home-grown talent and all except 1 or 2 actually lived in Greece.

Forgive me for not interpreting your meaning of an “organised Rugby Union” as being that “rugby was not played prior to 1998 and is relatively new in Greece” This comment is in fact wrong as well seeing as ex-pats and Greeks alike have been playing in Greece for over 15 years. The official competition was only started 2 years ago, true, but your comments bear no resemblence at all to the facts of Rugby in Greece hence everyones trouble in interpreting the meaning of your article. Could it be that you have neglected to do any research at all? I think that is a better explanation Terry.

Don’t get me wrong, this is not a go at Greek Rugby League because I love the game, but you have no idea how much time and effort the players and coaching VOLUNTEERS have put in to then have an ignorant comment made that the union which they all helped to build all of a sudden doesn’t exist in the eyes of Terry Liberopoulos because he hasn’t done any research and more shockingly publishes the comment to be seen by all and sundry.

You’ve successfully undone a lot of the great work our guys have done in getting the word of Greek Rugby around.

In future, stick to reporting on Rugby League and leave Union to Barney Spender. I think the only thing that needs organising is your research.

Not many would have believed that Rugby League would be played in Greece, especially since they had no organised Rugby Union either??????????

What that means is that there was no Rugby Union prior to 1998 and that Rugby is relatively new in Greece.

What does this comment mean? How much more organized than our championship does it get? Two divisions, and a game at least once every two weekends. This is our second year, several listed teams as participants and over 300 registered players, I think that says enough to prove we have an organized and succesfull Rugby Union.

Lets put another shrimp on the barbie (not your girlfriends) and watchout for the POSSOMS!!!!
